Dungeons and Achievements! Oh Boy!

Yesterday I was on Tyle trying to figure out what to do and realized I had a long way to go to cap my vp this week. I've gotten pretty used to raids and lfr making up a big chunk of my vp earnings but not this week. We'd only killed Lei Shen in our normal raid and I only ran the 2 lfr's that I needed to try and get more secrets to advance my legendary questline. I really didn't want to go back and run more lfr but it's better then daily quests. But I decided that I'd actually hit up the dungeon finder and run a dungeon. I'm really glad I did. Because in that first dungeon was a really awesome tank and healer who were chaining heroic dungeons and inviting dps along for the ride.

I had only intended to run one heroic but since they asked I kept going with them. We did enough dungeons to take me from about 300 vp to 700 vp. And they also tried to get any of the achievements for the group whenever they could. I even picked up a few on Tyle.

I'm not really sure how this achievement is gotten other then to pull all the things in the room and go to town killing them.
I had suggested trying for cleaning up when we got the Jade temple and most of the group was willing to give it a try. The only sour face we had in all our dungeon running was found in that run. It was a mage who started in on us that if we wanted achievements we should get a guild group together to do them. He just wanted his vp and to get out of there. Most of the group was willing to give it a shot so we headed to kill the boss in the library before the other one. Right after we killed the fish boss the mage dropped group and we had to 4-man the trash and the third boss. We kept pushing and got a fifth right as we started the last boss. This was a really close achievement. I wasn't sure we were going to make it. But we killed the sha right as the last second was ticking off us and managed to snag Cleaning up! That was incredibly awesome.

Eventually the tank had to go so it was the end of some really awesome dungeon runs. I was feeling pretty inspired by the healer so I went to go level my monk to 15 so she could start using the dungeon finder.
I had reached 14 and was making my way to 15 when I got a whisper from Navi asking if I thought heroic brd could be three-manned. Particularly the omnotron boss. I had no idea but I was willing to give it a try.

I was a little worried I would be tanking but then I saw that Navi had gotten Arv to come. I knew Arv would take all the damage so that meant I could just stand around and look pretty... I mean, do lots of damage. But even more fun was that Luxy was able to come as well! So we 4-manned Heroic Omnotron. And then went to see what else we could kill.
Magmaw is really different on heroic. There were skeleton adds and I wasn't too sure what to do but to dps stuff. And try not to get myself killed.

The last boss we got was Heroic Atramedes. He didn't even have an air phase. Navi needed to afk, something about work and patients. We tried to three-man on of the other bosses but it wasn't working. Arv needed to get going because it was getting late so that was the end of the raid. It was still pretty cool.

But I wasn't done getting achievements for the night. Navi got back and we chatted for a bit and then tried to think of a place to go duo. I still had a few achievements to finish in Forge of Souls so we headed there.

We didn't get the first one. Your supposed to kite him and get 4 soul fragments up. The fragments need to be slowed but my chains of ice were throwing one of my diseases onto the fragments. I'm not sure if that's because I'm frost or if that's a talent or something else. Anyway, the most souls we had up at once was two. They would either die or get absorbed when the boss would stop to cast another fragment. This one will definitely require some more planning to get.

Now I just had to hope I didn't stuff-up the last achievement. Something about interrupting something. Anyway, I summoned up my army and began to kill. I was just starting to get into my rotation when it died. That wasn't so difficult.

I still had two achievements left to get at toc so we left the dungeon and headed north. Navi had to tell me that I was in the wrong instance. Oops... no wonder I wasn't seeing my ponies around the outside of the ring. I suppose it's kinda funny, I'm not sure who gets more lost, her or me. I think was the winner last night since she found 2 of the 3 places and I only found 1.

The first fight was a giant pain-in-the-ass. Jousting. With two people. Poor Navi got trampled. A lot. They really liked running her over. It took a long time but we managed to joust our way to victory. I would dearly love to be able to skip that part of the fight. I was worried I'd feel a little odd about killing the Alliance heros but at that point I really wanted to bring them some pain.

We got lucky with the second boss and got Eadric so we could try and get me The Faceroller achievement. I threw on a piece of my tanking set so I wouldn't be accidentally summoning troll minions who could ruin our attempt by killing him. We just stood around at first and tried to figure out how to throw the hammer back at him. We figured it out and began to slowly work his health down to 10%. I took off my main-hand weapon and was just punching him. It took awhile but I got the achievement.

Navi thought that was it but I reminded her that there was still the Black Knight who had the last achievement I would need from toc. Something about not getting hit by exploding ghouls. Navi was off yonder and I stayed back to smash him with howling blast and my own ghoul. He died really quickly 3 times. But we made it without getting hit by a single ghoul.

It was starting to get pretty late in the night even for me... Ok, it was only 12:30 so it was an earlier night for me but I was ready for bedtime.

Holiday WoW Play Update

Been awhile since I've updated about what I've been up to in WoW and I've been up to a bunch of different things. Warning! Long post ahead!

I've been in my new guild for a few weeks now and I've noticed some things that I'm really happy about. First there's a ton of people in guild. Leveling, pvping, grouping, etc. and there seems to be guild chatter going on. I've been a bit shy about joining in but it's nice to be in such a vocal and active group. The other thing I've noticed is the officers are setting up guild runs.

The guild would like to start raiding the MoP raids but we don't have enough geared people with interest to accomplish those goals yet but last week we did put in some attempts on the dogs. The tanks got some good practice with the swaps but it mostly came down to just not being geared enough. So the run was called after a few attempts and we went to get some more guild achievements runs done.

The first place we hit was Firelands and it gave us a lot of trouble. Most of the group hadn't been there before and the mechanics in Firelands are brutal. You can't brute force your way though most of the fights. We finished about half of the raid before calling it a night.

We came back the next day and finished up pretty quickly with renewed energy.

Since that didn't take much time we went to Dragon Soul. Dragon Soul was laughably easy. The only trouble we had was spine because we had people zerging all the tentacles at first and the agalomations before we managed to get them to stop. The raid leader was also a bit confused about how the fight was supposed to work but we managed to muddle our way though. The last fight went well and the guild got the achievement and many of the group got the new title Destroyer's End.

Since the night was still early and I had achievements on my brain I thought I'd head back to Lost City and see if I could snag the Kill it with Fire, the last achievement I needed for Cata Glory of the Hero. I suppose if I had thought about it I wouldn't have tried it by myself but I got there and was heading for the boss when I realized this might not be doable. But since I was there I figured I'd give it a look. My first attempt I thought it might be possible but I did wipe. Second try I paid more attention to my health and snagged the achievement.

Pink Volcanic Stone Drake!

It was still pretty early yet so I actually did some dailies. And I managed to reach exalted with my third MoP Rep. Golden Lotus!

Guess I should get to work on those other reps. like Cloud Dragons.  I like how having the secondary professions gives you extra dailies. Tyledres is becoming quite the fisherwoman. Her skills only at 300 but she's working on it.

I've been spending quite a bit of my WoW time playing Aritâ, my new 90 druid. She's been flying around the world searching for artifacts and pets when she's not inflicting her heals on random dungeons groups.

I really enjoy playing resto again and admiring Arita's mog when she's not bouncing around in tree form. I should dig her Dartol's Rod of Transformation out of the bank so I can run some dungeons as a healing furbolg. She even got a new achievement for her healing! Ok, that was more the group was awesome than that I was healing but it's still pretty cool.

With the pet battling she's finally managed to catch one of each type of pet and...

... And she's managed to catch 50 rares! And not a one of them is over level 16. Yet.

Last year ended with JD posting about a new transmog contest so I took Aritâ out to Zul Drak to visit Har'oka and begin planning an outfit to enter. I plan to post about my entry later on along with a few of the options I considered and discarded.

The new year started pretty well and I actually took Tyledres down to the Tillers again where she finally managed to make a friend. Jogu the Drunk. He's such a great friend he gave me booze.

I also made a new WoW friend. I was on earlier than usual for me so I thought I'd see if this person was on. And Holy Smokes they were! Spaz that I am I forgot to take pictures. Ah well. Was still pretty cool. Although I will keep secret on who this person is for a bit longer.

At about Midnight the guild got together a group to run LFR. Tyledres won her 4th belt. Wonder if Blizzard thinks my DK's pants are falling down. She also won a 1-handed weapon. If I can get another I can use my amazing axe for blood and go back to DW frost. When I first got the axe I was a little reluctant to relearn frost but it was more like remembering frost from Cata.

Before the guild runs I'd been at the Black Market Auction house trying to snag an invitation. The prices have finally gone down to a point where I feel like I can buy one. Although I did recently buy a crimson whelpling for twice what I bought that invitation for. Arita wouldn't leave Wetlands without one. Having moved over 5000 wool, linen, and silk cloth along with a slew of greens I figured she came pretty close to making the 9000 gold she spent on that dragon.

But 4500 gold later and I was the proud owner of a Invitation to the Brawler's Guild

Which meant I had to stay up even later so I could get this.

Looks like I'll be keeping pretty busy in the new year. Guild runs, Brawler's Guild, Pet Battles, Contests, and, of course, all the wonderful peoplel that I've gotten to meet.

Busy Night

Navi from The Daily Frostwolf mentioned that I should write step by step how I manage to kill Razorgore but before I did that I wanted to make sure I could kill him on different toons. So I took Arita my 87 night elf druid to BWL. It took two tries but she got him down and she got an Untamed Hatchling! So I figured I'd see if I could get the 2nd boss. She managed to kill Vaelastrasz the Corrupt but she wasn't quick enough to kill him before he put burning adrenaline on her. A quick corpse run back and she cruised though the rest until she got to Chromaggus. When I've been though on Tyledres she kills a lot of stuff and I have more Hourglass sand than I could ever use but Arita stealthed and skipped a lot and I didn't have any Hourglass sand. So Arita got turned into a Chromatic Mutation for 5 minutes. After waiting that out I tried again this time removing one of the brood afflictions that's a curse and in Chromaggus' loot she found a little Chrominius.

Now that I'd done it at 87 I wanted to see if I could do the fight at 85. So I grabbed Hortis my paladin. She's normally a healer so it was a great chance to put the dps set moldering in her bag to good use. It took a few tries but she eventually got Razorgore down. So I than took Hortis and attempted to kill Vaelastrasz who laughed at me as he made my pally take a dirt nap. Twice. The fight wasn't looking very good so I figured that was her limit. When I get her to 90 I could probably managed the fight but currently I can't.

Next I figured I'd go and see if hell had frozen over and I'd won a Brawler's guild invite and after collecting the gold for being outbid I saw a group forming to get the Cata Heroic dungeon achievements. For some reason I thought LBR was on Sunday so I figured running heroics would be a fun way to spend my time. The achievement hunting went really well and the only one we didn't get was Kill it with Fire because it's currently bugged. But it was a fun run with several really cool people from my server.
