Blogaversery Giveaway

When I started this blog there was one thing I always thought would be really cool to do. I really wanted to do a giveaway with a cool prize like, say, a mount. When Blizzard announced the half-priced mount I didn't think much about it until the thought entered my head that I'd like to get one to give away. And my blogaversery is two weeks away so I'm going to be celebrating a few weeks early so I can give away a cool mount.

Cool Mount
Now I do realize that some of you may already have this mount so I'm willing to consider other, lesser prizes, but that'll be a discussion with whoever wins. I will say that's it's unlikely that'll I'll spring for a different mount. I've got budgets to consider afterall!

So how to win this cool mount. I've decided against making people come up with a transmog or something like that because this is short notice and I know that quite a few people are busy taking screenshots. Instead I'm just looking for a comment on this post. Specifically tell me about your favorite current mount. Which is the mount that you just keep using time after time.

Example: I love my Acherus Deathcharger. Even after collecting up several more exotic and unusual mounts I like taking my death knight around on her deathcharger. It suits her and I feel that I have a connection with it since I had to go steal a horse from the Scarlet Crusade and have it turned into a deathcharger.

See. Easy. Now if you comment at all on this post I'm putting you in the drawing. No saying I don't want the prize. I'm giving away something, dammit, and someone is going to win it whether they like it or not. Although I would hope they like it. I figure I have so few people who actually comment I need everyone who will to actually be in the drawing or I'll never have anyone to give this thing too. And that would make me sad. Please don't make me cry. And let others who might not come here otherwise know. I'm not discriminatory. I don't care if they never read another thing I write, well, maybe a little, or never, ever comment again. I just really want to give something away.

So. Deadline. Since the sale ends the 13th. I'm setting my deadling to the 12th. So August 12 at 10 AM CTD. Basically, US Central timezone. Or for those on Drak'Tharon - Server time! Funny how well that works for me :)

  1. Well, if Cat's not in flight form she uses the above pictured cool mount, if she's riding a ground mount she rides that Raven Lord that was such a pill to get. The Warlocks ride the Headless Horseman's Mount cause they think it makes look all scary!

    1. heh, I figured it was bound to happen that someone would already have cool mount. But damn, you have Raven Lord! I gave it a try for about 2 months. I think I have a better chance of getting Rivendare's Charger.

    2. 158th attempt did it, it took years, lol, that's why I make him work A LOT!

  2. I know you said we can't say we don't want the prize (I really don't want it) but I want to support you and your blog-o-versary :)

Each toon has a special mount, but for brevity's sake, I will just talk about Lyssi.

When I made Lyssi her first mount was the black hawkstrider (slow mount) and I thought it just suited her so well. When I got her to level 40 and her epic mount, there wasn't an epic black hawkstrider at the vendor. I did some research and found out that the only way to get it was through PvP. At the time you couldn't buy them with honor, you needed marks and rep, which I, of course, didn't have. She ended up settling for a different color mount in sadness.

Once the PvP mounts became available I quickly bought it for her. Once she was able to fly she stopped using it. I think I might have to whip it out now for old times sake!

Good luck to all the peeps!

    1. I won't force it. There's really not much I can do but makes things akward. But thanks for the support and for sharing!

  3. Early gratz on your blogaversary!!

My main toon uses the same mounts all the time, Spectral Tiger and Pureblood Firehawk. Alts get to use different mounts depending on what suits them!

    1. Oh! The Spectral Tiger. It's so damn pretty. And I had to look up what the Firehawk was but it's really gorgeous.

  4. Congratulations on your Blogaversary!

I'll certainly go into the draw for this. Something about a flying goat just...sings to me! :)

My favourite mount at the moment would have to be the Dark Phoenix.
    http://www.wowhead.com/spell=88990/dark-phoenix

Back when I was just starting to play end game content, in Cata, my Guild worked their butts off each week to gain the meta achieve, and I was there for EVERY win.
Being a rather OP affliction warlock, who was always early for every raid, was a great time for me (now I'm a rather sadly under-geared destro lock who doesn't enjoy raiding nearly as much as she did then).
It also brought a couple of "old friends" back to WoW, just so they could buy that mount.

It is my default flying mount, and I loves it.

  5. Hmmm I have so many alts and most have their own mounts so this may take a while! My Paladin has been using the Headless Horseman's mount purely for practical reasons but I used to use the White War Talbuk for a ground mount & the Amani Dragonhawk for flying. My Gnome has 3 favorites! She is the one I promised the Chopper but when she won the Great Brewfest Kodo, she parked her Chopper for a while! She likes the Veridien Netherwing Drake to fly on.

My Night Elf Warrior uses the Winterspring Frostsaber for ground & the Headless Horseman's Man for flying. I worked really hard for that Frostsaber so I keep using it! I've been collecting mounts since I started so most never really see the light of day but I know they are there when I feel the need for a change :)

    1. Lol, my pally uses the headless horseman's mount too! I started only using it for flying but when they gave the Draeni new pally mounts I switched to using it for ground as well. I like horses more then I like elephants.

And I love the Netherwing drakes. I keep telling myself I need to go do that rep grind but it's so intimidating.

  6. Hey and grats for your blogverse!
My favourite mount is on Horde side (I play alliance so I can't use it daily :/)
It's Frostwolf Howler, back in a day when I was still playing Horde side I farmed this one (when it still needed Alterac Valley reputation to be exalted), I spent so many hours on a day to get this. I also love wolves so that is other reason why I love it so much! So here was my story, enjoy :)

  8. Grats on your blogaversery!

    My favorite mount hmmmm....

I know when i first started into WoW when everyone was new....I thought the kodos looked really cool!

When I came back for a bit in BC...the Talkbuks were so awesome!

LK (when i decided to stay in Azeroth for good) - OMG so many mounts available now.

If i had to choose one favorite mount for my Panda - hmmmm. It would have to be for ground - Frostwolf Howler. For flying - Corrupted Firehawk or the disc...the disc is silly but hey...ITS A DISC....DBZ time!

    1. They're kinda like transmogs. You just need to be able to switch them all the time :)

  9. Congratulations on your blogaversary!

When I first started playing this game back in 2006 I was pretty clueless, as most of us were. I recall seeing a Draenei for the first time, I knew I had to make one, so I immediately went to the store and bought BC. I did the starting zone quests and left Exodar for Stormwind as soon as I could manage! When I finally made it to SW the first thing I saw was a female Draenei on a mystical, blue feathered mount /jawdrop I was in love... I was determined to have one of my very own. Back then Azun could only be summoned by Druids and only if you were on or had done your flying form quest. So I worked my little druid to the bone just for a chance to have the Reins of the Raven Lord even if it wasn't on the character I wanted it for.

I farmed for it everyday with friends who knew of my obsession over it. When the next expansion came out I farmed it on my own, gotta love prowl! But still nothing :( Expansion after expansion and still no mount, I stopped visiting Sethekk Halls as often. It became a weekly ritual and sometimes not even that.

Fast forward to MoP. The last few weeks however I have been running old instances on my Monk for transmog gear, pets, etc. and yesterday I was doing the attunement for Karazhan, crazy I know. The first instance you have to do is Shadow Labs. So I mention to a friend that while I'm going to Slabs I might as well go pick up my Reins of the Raven Lord. Not even five minutes later I'm screaming on the phone and OMFGing all over the place because I. FINALLY. GOT. MY. MOUNT!!!

All other ground mounts have been removed from my bars, I need nothing else! I am content! I'm not a huge mount collector, but this one, just this one, I have been coveting since my very first days of WoW, and now I can finally say I have it :D

  10. Happy blogaversary!!!!!

I have Four or Five favorite Mounts (yeah I know how can you have more then one favorite )

Pally's Warhorse- Back When I was a baby pally I thought it was awesome that I got a free Mount now when ever I'm riding it reminds me of some awesome times with old friends who no longer play the game.

Frostwolf Holwer - I fell in love with this the first time I saw it I new it was a PVP mount and being not a big pvp person I suffered through enough AV battles to get my marks( granted I started wow at the end of BC so my AV suffering was not as bad as the pre BC AV battles)

Those are my two favorite ground mounts

Turbo-Charged Flying Machine My orc hunter built this and it's been awesome to fly around in. I do find my self humming Wagner when i fly in it and man is the mount noisy :)

    Green and Purple Protodrakes.
The Green one because I knew guildies who bought egg after egg after egg after egg with no luck. Me I bought 2 eggs :) and I like the look of the mount.

Purple because As a Deadhead I just had to complete an achievement titled what a long strange trip it's been!

    1. I just love the class mounts. Well... not the new pally ones but the rest are pretty awesome. I think I just like horses. I actually have a green protodrake but it dropped from a tank bag. I've never gotten around to getting exalted with the Oracles.

  11. Congrats on your blogaversary!

My favorite mounts usually change with each expansion. However, right now I'm really using Reins of the Onyxian Drake to fly everywhere (it's still new to me!) and my Ultramarine Qiraji Battle Tank to run everywhere. It's one of the few land mounts that I always consistently use!
